Are Disposable Vapes Getting Banned in NZ?
Certainly Yes! Starting June 17th, 2025, the land of the Kiwis will bid farewell to disposable vapes. This covers those vapes that can't be refilled by filling the device with vaping juice or using replaceable pods or cartridges, or can't be recharged by the user.
If you currently use Disposable Vapes you can easily transition to an equivalent Disposable Pod System Vape with same flavors and bit cheaper!
Summarize the Scoop on New Vape Laws
New Zealand shook up its vaping laws, cracking down on manufacturers and retailers. They banned disposable vapes, revamped how vapes are shown, and limited promotions and discounts. These changes are all about stopping youngins from vaping.
From June 17th 2025, the following will change:
-
In-store: General Retailers can't show vaping stuff anymore. Keep it hidden under the counter or in a closed cabinet. But Vape Specialists can still display their goods.(Specialized Vape Stores)
-
Online: Websites will no longer be allowed to display vaping products, including product images. Our website will start to look a little different as we slowly implement these changes.
-
Promotions, discounts and giveaways: No more freebies, discounts, or rewards on vaping goodies! Our NZ Vapez rewards program is feeling the heat from this ban. So please make sure to use your all reward points before 31st May 2025 midnight.
Average vapers must switch from disposable vapes to pod vaping due to new regulations. NZ aims to support smokers transitioning to vaping while preventing non-smokers from starting.
Consumers can purchase vapes from specialist vape stores or select general retailers, either in physical outlets or online. A variety of vapes are still available but disposable vapes will not be available from June 17th 2025.
